This recipe is such a great recipe to have on hand. If you have little ones like I do, the ranch flavoring is going to be a big hit. My kids love this recipe because of the mild flavor. I love this recipe because it is quick and easy and uses only a handful of ingredients.
What Ingredients Do I Need for Crock Pot Ranch Chicken?
You only need a handful of ingredients for this recipe. I love that this recipe comes together so quickly and is chock full of flavor. Here are the ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- chicken breasts (2-3 large chicken breasts)
- chicken broth
- cream cheese
- Ranch seasoning
- potatoes and carrots (optional)
If you don’t want to serve with potatoes and carrots, you can omit those from the recipe and serve this Ranch chicken in a few different ways.

How Do I Make Crock Pot Ranch Chicken
I love using my slow cooker as much as possible. Between that and my Instant Pot, I stay a happy camper in the kitchen. My slow cooker makes dinner easy as pie and I don’t have to slave over a stove for an hour after getting home from a long day at work.
When making chicken in the Crock Pot, you can do it in a couple of ways.
- Cook chicken on high for 2 1/2-3 hours.
- Cook chicken on low for 7 hours.
If you choose to use frozen chicken breasts when making this recipe, you may want to add additional time and make sure that the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit before serving. You can read more about why in this article.
Ranch Chicken is relatively easy to make. You’re just a few easy steps away from a delicious and filling meal.
- Add chicken breasts to the Crock Pot.
Add the chicken breasts to the bottom of the Crock Pot and cover them with chicken broth. Sprinkle with Ranch seasoning.
- Add in potatoes and carrots.
Add potatoes and carrots to the chicken and broth and cook on high for 3 hours, or cook on low for 7 hours.
- Shred the chicken.
Remove the chicken from the Crock Pot and shred it using two forks. Place the shredded chicken back into the Crock Pot with the potatoes and carrots.
- Mix in cream cheese.
Add the cream cheese into the ranch chicken mixture to give the chicken and veggies a creamy flavor.

Crock Pot Ranch Chicken
- Slow Cooker
- 3 chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup carrots small
- 1 cup potatoes various colors
- 3 tbsp Ranch seasoning
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Add chicken breasts to the slow cooker. Top with Ranch seasoning and add chicken broth.
- Cook on high for 2 1/2 hours. Remove chicken from Crock Pot and shred.
- Add chicken back to the Crock Pot and add cream cheese. Mix well.
- Cook on low for an additional hour.
- Save leftover Ranch chicken in an airtight container. Place in the refrigerator for 3 days, or freeze for up to one month.
- Serve leftover ranch chicken on tacos, over rice, or in a salad.
